Swims for Tins at Dunbar Leisure Pool

On Saturday 21st March, Dunbar Leisure Pool invites customers to bring along a donation to the East Lothian Foodbank and in return they can enjoy a swim for free!

The East Lothian Foodbank, which is based in Civic Square Tranent, provides emergency food supplies to local people in crisis. All food handed out by the Foodbanks is donated. The charity therefore relies on the generosity of local public to donate items to help others in need.

Between 10am and 4.30pm on Saturday 21st March, enjoyleisure will be offering patrons a free swim at Dunbar Leisure Pool in exchange for donations to the Foodbank; the suggested donation is 5 items per person or 10 items per family.

Bill Axon, General Manager added, “As a community organisation, we have a role to play in the overall health and wellbeing of East Lothian’s residents. As more and more demands are being requested of the Foodbank, we wanted to show our support to this invaluable charitable initiative and assist those in our communities who are need of its services.”

Peter Dicker, East Lothian Foodbank Manager says, “We at the Foodbank thank enjoyleisure for coming up with this idea for getting donations for the Foodbank. A big thank you also goes to the Dunbar Leisure Pool staff for their support, on what we expect will be an extremely busy day!

The donations will keep us topped up with the food items that will go towards making up food parcels for people who are in a food crisis situation in East Lothian. We thank everyone in advance for the generosity.”
