Gyms Get Upgraded

enjoyleisure is delighted to announce the refurbishment and gym equipment upgrades scheduled at three of its facilities; Dunbar Leisure Pool, North Berwick Sports Centre and Meadowmill Sports Centre, which will take place in the coming weeks.

enjoyleisure in partnership with East Lothian Council, aims to upgrade the Gym equipment within each of the Sports Centres on an annual 5 year cycle. This year North Berwick, Dunbar and Meadowmill will benefit from the c£190k investment to refurbish the rooms and install new and improved Pulse equipment in the Bodyworks Gyms.

Dunbar Leisure Pool will have its 23 pieces of equipment upgraded as will Meadowmill’s 18. Both Centres will also benefit from new additional pieces of equipment in the form of new Fusion Series Lateral Trainers and Kaiser M3X Cycles (often regarded by users as ‘Spin-Bikes’).

North Berwick Sports Centre will receive a total of 15 pieces of cardiovascular and 13 pieces of resistance equipment. In addition the free weights area is being revamped and a wide range of new hand held dumbbells up to 50kg and Olympic bars and weights will be available.

In order to make all of these improvements there will be some temporary closures of the Bodyworks Gyms:

  • Dunbar Leisure Pool closes at 5pm on Thursday 16th April and reopens on
    Tuesday 28th April.
  • North Berwick Sports Centre closes at 10pm on Monday 27th April and reopens on Wednesday 13th May.
  • Meadowmill Sports Centre closes at 5pm on Wednesday 13th May and reopens on Saturday 23rd May.

The Bodyworks Gym improvements at North Berwick Sports Centre come during an extended period of works which will improve the overall operations of the facility. These are largely focused on behind the scenes issues like replacing pool filters, upgrading the electrical distribution board, building works for fire protection and the installation of a new fire alarm system. However customers will benefit from a new lift facility and improved lighting in the main public areas, making the centre more accessible and enhancing the ambiance of the Sports Centre.

Bill Axon, General Manager commented, “Throughout the upgrades and maintenance works, we aim to cause as little disruption to customers as possible. It’s certainly an exciting time, and we’re delighted to be able to make these upgrades within enjoyleisure managed facilities in partnership with East Lothian Council.”

enjoyleisure would like to take this opportunity to thank all of its customers for their patience and cooperation as we make these improvements.
