Remember, Remember the Foodbank this November

11th December 2018  (UPDATE)

Remembering the Foodbank this Winter

enjoyleisure would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of its customers and staff for their generous donations to the East Lothian Foodbank.

Last month, enjoyleisure ran a “Remember, Remember the Foodbank this November” campaign, where each of the community based Sports Centres acted as a public donation point for the East Lothian Foodbank, which provides an essential lifeline to individuals and families in need across the county.

As the winter months approach, the Foodbank experiences an increase in requests from those who are struggling financially; and are often unable to feed themselves and their families. In addition to a standard 3-day emergency food parcel, the Foodbank is currently collecting donations for its “Jingle Bags” appeal. This campaign aims to provide some additional festive cheer, by providing everything needed to celebrate Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.

In total the donations collected across enjoyleisure’s six Sports Centres amounted to 149kg, which equates to approximately 248 meals.

Bill Axon, General Manager comments, “As a community organisation, we wanted to show our support to this invaluable local initiative and assist those who are in need of its services. We are incredibly grateful to our customers and staff who contributed donations. Their generosity will help lighten the load for others this festive season.”
