Swims for Tins

On Saturday 9th December, Dunbar Leisure Pool invites customers to bring along a donation to the East Lothian Foodbank and in return they can enjoy a swim for free!

The East Lothian Foodbank, which is based in Civic Square Tranent, provides emergency food supplies to local people in crisis. All food handed out by the Foodbanks is donated. The charity therefore relies on the generosity of local public to donate items to help others in need.

As we approach the festive season, the Foodbank is in need of donations more than ever. They recently launched their ‘Jingle Bag’ appeal looking for items to provide Christmas Meals for families in need. The ‘Jingle Bag’ shopping list includes:

• Chicken / Turkey (tinned)
• Potatoes (tinned or packet mash)
• Carrots (tinned)
• Sweetcorn (tinned)
• Gravy (packet)
• Bread sauce (packet)
• Stuffing (packet/box)
• Christmas Pudding
• Custard (tin / carton – not from fridge)
• Mince Pies
• Biscuits
• Chocolates / Selection packs
• Christmas Snacks
• Christmas Crackers

Additional non-perishable items will also be accepted.

Between 10am and 4.30pm on Saturday 9th December, enjoyleisure will be offering patrons a free swim at Dunbar Leisure Pool in exchange for donations to the Foodbank.

A suggested donation is 5 items per person or 10 items per family, however any donation will be gladly accepted.
