‘Tis the season of giving and enjoyleisure is reaching out to its customers and local communities to deliver some festive spirit, by organising a Donation Drive this weekend.

On both Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December, enjoyleisure’s Sports Centres are organising a donation drive of either non-perishable food items or Christmas gifts and toys to support both East Lothian’s Connected Communities & the East Lothian Foodbank.

As a thank you, enjoyleisure are offer free swim sessions to all that bring in a donation.

That’s right you can enjoy a free swim in exchange for a donation of tins & toys!

enjoyleisure Chief Executive Bill Axon explains, “Regrettably there are many individuals and families, right here in East Lothian that are in need of support just now.  As the county’s local community sports and leisure provider, we want to help make Christmas a special time for everyone.”

“By acting as donation points for both the East Lothian Foodbank and East Lothian’s Connected Community Christmas Appeals, we want to make it easy for local residents to both give and receive this festive season.   These upcoming “donation days”, are aimed at focusing people’s attention to pick up a few extra few things and donate them at their local Sports Facilities”.

Donations are being accepted at each of the enjoyleisure Sports Centres until Sunday 12th December.

East Lothian’s Connected Communities are looking for gift donations for children and young people, suitable for a wide range of ages from 0-3 years right up to 13-16 years.  Suggested items include age appropriate soft toys, toy vehicles, dolls, CDs with nursery rhymes, books, puzzles, stationary items, colouring and craft activities, gift cards and toiletry items.

Our local Connected Communities also provide assistance at this time of year to members of the wider community; individuals and seniors citizens, who perhaps need some additional support or are socially isolated.  Items such as toiletry gift sets, cosy socks, hats & gloves, and games & puzzles are equally welcomed.

Likewise the East Lothian Foodbank are looking for donations for their Jingle Bags.  Non-perishable items such as tinned chicken/turkey, tinned vegetables, packets of mash, gravy and stuffing, savoury snacks, selection boxes, biscuits, mince pies and a Christmas Pud!

Every single donation will help raise a smile this festive season.

Let’s make Christmas 2021 a time that everyone can enjoy!
